A ’social sabbatical’ is more than a time-out!

It’s a unique experience which can lead to a change in perspective and both personnel and professional development.
For example, your skills could be needed in building up a vocational information centre at an educational establishment in Nepal, designing a

marketing campaign for an environmental project in Argentina or creating an eco-tourism concept in Zambia.

Together we choose a suitable project for you. We give you training before you start and support you during and after your project work, thus creating a framework for a secure and sustainable ‘social sabbatical’.

Expenses of your social sabbatical

YOUR INVESTMENT

Again and again we are asked why one has to pay for a ‘social sabbatical’.
Manager für Menschen is not financed by a public authority. However there are significant tasks and costs behind the scenes in arranging a sabbatical, including identifying, visiting and assessing partner organizations; agreeing your schedule of work; organizing airport transfers and accommodation; assisting you in your preparation and supporting you during and after your placement.

To cover the costs of our services we therefore charge a placement and preparation fee of 1.250 Euro. This fee is regardless of the length of your assignment.

In order to not affect the project budget, most of the costs of your stay have to be covered by yourself. These include your visa, your travel expenses, accommodation and food. You will need to pay these costs on-site.

Please also consider possible costs for insurance, preventive health care and other useful preparatory measures such as language classes.
